Significant Histories of the Civil War

This is considered one of the finest histories of the Civil War and the events that led up to it. Rhodes later wrote History of the Civil War (1917), which won the Pulitzer Prize (see below).

It was a condensed version of his 5-volume history above that focuses exclusively on the Civil War. Rhodes received the Pulitzer Prize for this volume.
